Chauhali Upazila is an upazila of Sirajganj district of Rajshahi division of Bangladesh which consists of 7 unions. It is an agricultural area. Cottage industry and many make a living by fishing. During the British rule, this region played an important role as an economic area. The English cultivated indigo here during the East India Company period. After the independence of Bangladesh, Chauhali was made an upazila in 1984. According to the 2011 census, the total population of the upazila is 1,47,143. Out of this, 51% are male and 49% are female. The average literacy rate of the upazila is 56 percent. Higher education institutions include Khawaja Yunus Ali University and Khawaja Yunus Ali Medical College.


Nautical communication is the main communication medium of Chowhali Upazila. From Sirajganj Sadar to Sirajganj-Enayetpur road from Enayetpur boat ghat to Upazila Sadar. Among the notable tourist attractions of Chowhali Upazila is the mausoleum of Shah Sufi Hazrat Yunus Ali Enajetpuri located in Sadia Chandpur Union. Chauhali's parliamentary seat in the Bangladesh National Parliament election is Sirajganj-5. This seat is identified as the 66th seat in the National Parliament. However, Chowhali was included in Sirajganj-6 constituency from the fifth to the eighth parliamentary elections in 1991 to 2001. Abdul Momin Mandal was elected Member of Parliament in the last 11th National Parliament Election of 2018.
